Imagine: Think of every day as winter. You walk outside and the ground is perfectly covered in a white blanket of snow. The birds are somehow still chirping. Your neighbor, Mrs. Jenson, calls over to you concerning her…ok, I’m getting too into this. Back to the point. (The snow is the most important part of this analogy so for those of you who are opposed to the cold, think of your favorite vacation spot…but with tons of snow everywhere) The…
The mind is the most complicated known object in our universe. The 100 billion neurons that make up our brain are connected to 10 thousand others. This mind-blowing structure (pun absolutely intended) is one of the greatest assets we have when confronting life. For today, I’d like to focus on the subconscious. The study of the subconscious mind is growing immensely because of recent advances within the field. What scientists and psychologists alike have found is that the subconscious is…
Moving Forward: “The way to happiness: keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think of others. Do as you would be done by. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.”- H.C. Mattern
Set a baseline standard of what you will accept in life and commit to it. If you want to be making a specific salary, then set a goal and work towards it every day. If you want to have so much free time in a given day, then set a goal and brainstorm ways to achieve it.
Do not let your anger control you. If you are in a bad state, find some way to calm down. Leave the situation entirely if you must. Words and actions justified by anger are not worth your time.
Every day, you should have the goal to increase your quality of life. Never become stagnant. Those who sit idle in their faith, in their business, and in their life will become hollow and waste away. Create substance. With the technology available, the world is your oyster. You have limitless possibilities every day to grow yourself.
Everyone has the ability to shape themselves. This is the beauty of free will. Every day, you are presented with the opportunity to take action and create your own destiny.
Habits are formed by repetition. The repetition tells the brain to set up neural connections in your body. In order to break a habit, you need to stop indulging in the behavior to interrupt the pattern.
Develop a voracious appetite for knowledge. Never stop learning.
