Readers are leaders. Knowledge is power. These two statements are the keys to success.
Coming into my junior year of college I struggled a lot internally. I felt as if I didn’t have a purpose. I felt like my life was out of my control. So I decided to take on a new challenge. I went online and found the top 20 most influential self help books and purchased all of them.
(Side note: while books can be expensive, there are plenty of online stores that give huge discounts on old paperbacks. It only took a little bit of research to make this endeavor of mine fairly cheap)
(Double side note: these books that I found are not necessarily the top 20 of all time, they were the first 20 major influential books I found)
The following is a list of my favorite books that have changed my understanding on life:
-The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
-Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
-The Greatest Salesman in the World by OG Mandino
-How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
-Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…and it’s all small stuff by Richard Carlson
-Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck
-The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra
-The Fred Factor by Mark Sanborn
-Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie
-Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins
-As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
-Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy
I encourage everyone to always have a book to read in their spare time. It doesn’t have to be about self-help. It just has to be something that you enjoy diving into. You are always a more enlightened individual by the last page.
